Experience at Solaniwa Onsen

Upon entering Solaniwa onsen Osaka bay tower, the reception staff will provide detailed guidance. After storing your shoes in the lockers, you will proceed to the check-in counter. Everyone receives a wristband (which also serves as your locker key). All additional expenses within the facility are charged by scanning this wristband, and you settle the total bill upon exit. You don’t have to worry about carrying your wallet around.

If you purchased tickets through KKday or Klook, simply show your QR Code to the staff. Each person receives a set of towels (one large, one small), a small carry bag, and can choose a yukata. There are over 5 different patterns and belts for both men and women, available in various sizes. Once you’ve chosen your favorite yukata, you can head to the locker room to change. While you must wear special attire for the stone sauna, yukatas are required for most other areas; you are not permitted to wear your own clothes inside the facility.

Facilities Overview

The facility spans from the 2nd to the 5th floor, each offering different amenities. You can find the detailed map below, and I will highlight some of the key areas next!

Gender-Segregated Communal Baths

The main attraction of Solaniwa onsen Osaka bay tower is, of course, the hot springs. There are approximately 9 different types of baths in both the men’s and women’s sections. These baths are designed to help with neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, bruises, hemorrhoids, poor circulation, and fatigue. Beyond the therapeutic effects of the water, the surrounding scenery is breathtaking—from large floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a Japanese garden to outdoor stone-rimmed pools that provide a truly refreshing atmosphere.

Sky Garden (Tenku Garden)

The spacious Sky Garden is a must-visit. With its small bridges, flowing water, Senbon Torii gates, foot baths, and a small shrine, every corner is perfect for photos when you’re in your yukata. There are even cute toys in the foot baths, making it super fun. I recommend visiting the tea house next to the Sky Garden to borrow a lantern (for free); taking photos with a lantern in the garden at night is a dream for any photographer!

Relaxation Lounge

This area is a bit hidden, located up a small staircase next to the stone sauna section. It features a vast collection of manga and large sofa chairs. While the manga is in Japanese, the sofa chairs come with individual reading lights, making it an incredibly comfortable place to nap or browse your phone.

Shopping & Dining Street

If you’re hungry, head to the restaurant area. Once seated, servers will provide menus offering various classic Japanese dishes at reasonable prices. After a long soak, having a hot pot with a cold beer is pure bliss! Beyond the restaurants, there are arched bridges, small torii gates, shrines, and a game area to enjoy. We found the food quality to be quite good, and that post-onsen beer was definitely a highlight.

Private Hot Spring Baths

For families or couples seeking more privacy, I recommend renting a “Private Hot Spring Bath.” While the price is higher, it provides your own private lounge and garden space. It is well worth it if you value atmosphere and privacy. Detailed pricing and room types can be found on the official website.

That concludes my introduction to the popular Solaniwa onsen Osaka bay tower. If it’s your first time or one of your first few trips to Japan, I highly recommend visiting.

Renting a kimono or yukata elsewhere can be quite expensive, but here it is included in your ticket. With so many thoughtfully designed spots, the admission fee of around $15.60 USD is definitely great value for money.
